About The Living Learning School

Where Learning Grows with Your Child

Our Mission & Philosophy

We started Living Learning School with a vision: to create an education that prepares children not just for tests, but for life. A place where creativity matters as much as academics. Where nature teaches as powerfully as any textbook. Where children learn to think, question, create, and care.

Inspired by Waldorf philosophy, we believe children learn best when education honours their development—engaging their hands, hearts, and imaginations, not just their intellect. Our day school for ages 6–9 is taught entirely in English, opening doors to global communication and opportunity. Yet we remain deeply connected to Siem Reap’s vibrant Khmer culture, celebrating its stories, traditions, and rhythms throughout the school year.

In our small classes, teachers Rich and Chanty guide each child with patience, warmth, and insight. We teach through art, movement, storytelling, and exploration in our beautiful nature campus. We build skills and confidence. We foster kindness and curiosity. And we help every child discover who they are and what they’re capable of becoming.

This is education designed for the whole child. This is learning that lasts a lifetime.

The Heart of The Living Learning School

When Richard and Chanty met while teaching Waldorf education, something clicked. They shared the same passion: a belief that children learn best when education honours their development, nurtures their creativity, and respects their individuality. They’d both seen what happens when a child is truly known by their teacher—confidence blooms, curiosity awakens, potential unfolds.

They also shared a frustration. They wanted to teach the way they believed children deserved to be taught—in small classes where relationships matter, where art and nature are as essential as reading and math, where Khmer culture and English fluency walk hand in hand.

So they decided to build it themselves.

Richard—an experienced native English teacher with a love of creative expression, movement, and swimming—and Chanty—a dedicated Khmer educator skilled in mathematics, science and language, deeply connected to local traditions—combined their strengths to create Living Learning School. A day school inspired by Waldorf philosophy, rooted in nature, and designed around one core belief: every child holds unique potential, and education should help that potential unfold.

That’s why this school exists. That’s the passion that drives every lesson, every conversation, every Discovery Day. Richard and Chanty didn’t just want to teach. They wanted to create a place where children could truly thrive.

Meet the Teachers

At The Living Learning School, your child will be taught by two people who genuinely love what they do—and who believe teaching is about far more than delivering lessons. Richard and Chanty bring passion, experience, and deep care to every school day. Here’s who they are.

Rich Green
Originally from England, Richard brings a wealth of experience and warmth to the classroom.

For many years, he has thrived as an educator in Waldorf schools, known for their humanistic, creative approach to learning. Whether your child is creating in Art, expressing themselves in English, exploring Movement and Swimming, or finding their voice through Music, they will benefit from Richard’s deep knowledge and passion for holistic education.

A true nature lover and outdoorsman, Richard’s teaching goes far beyond textbooks. He believes deeply in “education for life”—empowering children with practical skills, creativity, and empathy that will set them up for success far beyond the classroom. He has a gift for seeing every child’s unique potential, connecting with them individually, and unlocking the keys to real, meaningful growth.

Chanty Bit
Chanty’s calm, patient, and caring presence shines through in every lesson.

Fluent in English and Khmer, she teaches core subjects such as English, Khmer, Mathematics, and the Main Lesson with clarity and compassion. Having studied at the respected JPA School in Siem Reap and earned her Science degree while studying in English in Thailand, Chanty brings both academic excellence and Waldorf experience into her teaching.

Parents love how Chanty helps children grow in confidence—she believes every child can achieve their best, and she gently encourages each one to shine. Her thoughtful, nurturing style creates an environment where learners feel secure, supported, and inspired to explore.

Our Values

These three values guide everything we do—from how we teach to how we welcome families into our community.

💙 Whole-Child Education

Children aren’t just minds to be filled with facts. They’re whole people—with hearts, hands, imaginations, and spirits. We nurture intellectual growth, yes, but also creativity, emotional intelligence, physical confidence, and moral character. Education should develop the entire human being.

🌳 Nature and Movement

Our green campus and natural pool aren’t just beautiful—they’re essential to healthy development. Outdoor learning, swimming, and physical activity nurture strong bodies, calm minds, and a lifelong love of nature. Children need space to move, explore, and breathe.

🌍 Connection to Culture & Community

We teach in English to open global doors, but we stay rooted in Khmer culture—its stories, songs, traditions, and values—which weaves through our days. Families aren’t customers—they’re part of our community. Teachers know every child by name. Parents are welcomed as partners.
